There are many similarities between Druidism, Pagan and Wiccan. The first thing that many people think of is that they are
cults of Satan. This mistake is made by uninformed and close-minded people.
I am a Celtic Pagan which is a board term in itself. I have taken elements of Druidism and Wicca, which share many beliefs
to begin with, and combined them. I do not believe in any single God or Goddess for one must have one with the other.
Therefore, I worship a God and a Goddess from ancient Celtic beliefs: Brigid and Oghma.
Brigid, which means "bright arrow" in Celtic, is the Goddess of fire, fertility, the hearth, all feminine arts and crafts,
maritial arts, healing, agriculture, inspiration, learning, metalcraft, poetry, phophecy, love, witchcraft and occult
knowlegdge. She was a daughter of the Dagda which was the Great God of Irish Deities. Brigid is often called the poetess
and her holiday is Imbolc (February 1st or the first full moon of Aquarius). She is known also as Bride, Brigit, Brigantia,
Brid, Brighid, and Briginda. Brigid seems to be a natural choice for me since I write poetry and my birthday is the day
before Valentine's Day.
Oghma is the God of language, eloquence, poetry, writing, physical strength, literature, magic, the arts, music and
reincarnation. It was he who invented the Ogham script alphabet. Oghma is a son of the Dagda and Brigid's brother. Another
natural choice for me.
