Angel of Mischief: Mischief walks through her scenarios without anyone actually noticing. Mortals will simply never quite connect the cheerful, pleasantly scatterbrained girl with the chaos going on around them. Celestials may, but it requires a Perception Roll at -2. Mischief also reduces all disturbance that arises from her actions by half, unless a human is killed (even a non-innocent human). Death isn't mischievous: it's just mean.

Rites:

: Make a person laugh at how ridiculous he or she's being.

: Foil an evil (or Evil) plot through a wacky set of circumstances.

Wherever there's a works that desperately needs a spanner in it, there's Mischief. She's incredibly hard to pin down, even for one of Janus' Servitors: usually, people just look for the nearest area of utter insanity and start following the trail of comic misunderstandings, punctured egos, and, well, generally zany situations. They probably won't catch her, but the aftermath is often quite amusing, anyway.

Mischief showed up a few centuries ago: in fact, she was one of Janus' first Merry Pranksters to make a public impression. It would be nice to say that judging Janus' entire Minor Choir by her antics and behavior would be unfair: nice, but pointless. The only reason that all Merry Pranksters don't act like Mischief is because they can't.

Mischief serves the positive aspects of her Word. Not for her are situations where people are maliciously hurt or shamed: she instead delights in making the somber laugh and causing the grim to get a wicked gleam in their eye. Mischief has a fine eye for finding the one metaphorical key brick in a wall of pretension and pomposity, and an even better one for knowing how to yank it so that the whole thing falls apart in laughter and silliness. She's also militantly indifferent about puncturing celestial egos, too: stuffy angels might find themselves one of her "projects".

Naturally, Servitors of Dark Humor absolutely loathe her (not to mention the Game or Fate). Alas, fighting a Merry Prankster is often an exercise in futility: they can make the laws of probability all twisty, and quite enjoy it when they don’t have to worry about innocents getting in the way. It's like that with Mischief, only more so. Luckily, if a demon encounters her, and runs away amusingly enough, the angel will often let him go. A demon running for his dignity isn't exactly furthering some Nefarious Plan, and, besides, isn't that why we have all these Malakim, anyway?

Personally, Mischief's OK to know, if you don't mind knowing an elaborate, relentless practical jokester with strong opinions about people Not Having Fun. She'll pitch in, if it looks like other angels need help with something, ignoring Heavenly politics as beneath her. You may not want the help, but you'll get it, and it will be actually useful. Needless to say, she and Creationers (especially Malakim) get along like a house on fire.

Finally, there are those that wonder how on earth any group as stuffy as the Seraphim Council ever gave out this frivolous Word, even if the Archangel of the Wind insisted. Well, the rumor is that they didn't: Mischief just acted as if she had the Word, and pretty soon … she did.

Chew on that.
