Dreams Of You And The Sea

Why is it my dreams are always of the sea?

I often wonder what their meaning could be.

They have been both good and bad dreams

But they are always dreams of you and me.



Always, we are standing at the oceans edge

Hand in hand, the stars twinkling above.

Somewhere from afar we can hear a melody.

When the sea is at peace, we always make love.



Then, there are times when the night brings a storm.

Your hand slips from mine and I'm all alone.

There is no moon, no stars up above,

I reach out but you're gone, I'm left on my own.



I find myself spending all of my days

Thinking of you and the sea.

I keep telling my heart it's only a dream,

When the storm's over, you'll find your way back to me.



I spend all my nights waiting at the oceans edge.

Waiting for the moon and the stars and you.

Can you hear my voice calling in the wind?

Could you be searching for me too?



I yearn for nights when the sea is at peace.

When you hold me and tell me you love me.

I wonder my darling, do you ever dream

Of you and me and the sea?
