Switchable power output 0.5W, 5W, 10W, with seperate AM modulation calibration for each power to keep it mean but clean. Pulling Squelch knob out selects FM mode on the AM/FM version (as shown). Meter lights in green on Rx, red on Tx. No PA facility (but then so what?). A personal favourite. Ham International UK 120Ch AM/FM 120 Channels in 3 'shifts' - Low, Mid, High. A Ham International UK badged version of the Colt 444 (see above). Uses LC7120 PLL chip. Made in Japan, this example bore the serial number 81071252. Formac 120 - 120 Ch AM/FM 120 Channels in 3 'shifts' - Low, Mid, High. Major M360 120 Ch AM/SSB/FM 120 Channels in 3 'shifts' - Mid, High, High-High. Has DX/Local switchable attenuator and switchable NB+ANL. Specifications claim 10W AM/FM 12Wpep SSB. Lovely low noise high sensitivity receiver. There was also an M588 which was an 80 Ch version. Has a Modulation indicator LED (the green LED to right of meter), and RF Gain switch to provide DX/Local sensitivities. Cobra 146GTL 40 Ch AM/SSB 120 Channels in 3 'shifts' - Low, Mid, High. Has RF gain, switchable ANL or ANL+NB. Made in Taiwan. This example was modified to have 80 channels with high-shift selected at the OFF position of the NB/ANL switch. Nice low-noise receive section. Many of the controls are mounted on a PCB behind the front panel, giving a slightly flimsy feel except for volume control and channel switch. FCC ID: 146GTL. This example bore serial number of 03011736, and was manufactured in 1980. Cobra 148GTL-DX 120 Ch AM/SSB/CW/FM 120 Channels in 3 'shifts' - Low, Mid, High. Has coarse and fine clarifier controls,RF gain, Mic gain, switchable audio filter, switchable ANL+NB. Built-in SWR meter facility. One of the few multimodes to have CW facility. Has RF Gain, Mic gain, Tone control, Display dimmer, Normal or Scan modes on Rx - Scan Monitors Ch9 Ch19 and selected channel, pausing on activity. Must be in Normal mode to transmit. Built in Modulation meter and SWR meter facilities. At 9" x 2.5" x 10.5" it's a rather large unit! Specifications claim 4W AM/FM 12Wpep SSB. President MADISON 80 Ch AM/SSB/FM 80 Channels in 2 'shifts' - Mid & High. A L-A-R-G-E base-station multimode with selectable 240Vac/12Vdc supply. Separate S/RF and SWR/Modulation meters, an electro-mechanical digital clock (well seventies!) with alarm/timer, and NO internal loudspeaker. Yes that's right - a huge cabinet yet no built-in speaker!!! Two extension speaker sockets though!! FM mode is selected using what would have been the channel 9 switch.
