Sea Scout Ship 51, Intrepid

The Sea Scout Ship Intrepid is an all-male ship out of Palo Alto, CA. They are affiliated with Boy Scout troop 15, and, because of this affiliation, work with youth as young as 11. Their primary boat is a 95' ex cape-class Coast Guard cutter called the Cape Romain. They still have their old vessel, a 65' box boat called the Intrepid, but it will soon go to another scout ship. The Cape Romain will be renamed Intrepid.

They meet every Tuesday evening at the Sea Scout base in Palo Alto from 7-9 p.m. To get to the base, go East on Embarcadero Road to the end and turn left. It's the blue and white building that looks like a boat on your right. They also work on the Cape Romain Saturdays from 9-4 on wharf 4 in Redwood City.

To contact the Intrepid, write to them c/o their skipper, Pat Siddens, at 3083 Maurica Ave, Santa Clara, CA, 95051. He can also be reached by phone at (408) 244-5650, or by email at psiddens@aol.com
