SecureLexus Reigns Supreme in Maintenance Study
It's official, Toyota Motor Corp.'s (7203.T) Lexus luxury series of vehicles has come out the leader for the seventh consecutive year in a maintenance study among vehicles between the ages of four and five years. The lexus vehicles were noted for their superior maintenance track record, experiencing less troubles than the average car. In the J.D. Power and Associates 2000 Vehicle Dependability Study, in which 40,000 auto owners were surveyed, it was revealed that the 1997 Lexus experienced 1.73 problems per auto, while the average 1997 auto experienced 3.82 problems. "Toyota, in general, one of their secrets to success is consistency, the fact that they can take the lessons learned from their Lexus line and apply it to their Toyota models...They get tremendous advantages with that," stated J.D. Power and Associates Director of Product Research Brian Walters.
Toyotas continue to be popular among American consumers which has been evidenced by a 7.3 percent surge in sales for the annual period lasting to the end of October. Leading the way for Toyota in the maintenance study were the Lexus LS 400 luxury sedan and the LX 450 full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV).
Next in line in the study came Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.'s (7201.T) Infiniti, Ford Motor Co.'s Jaguar and Lincoln, and Honda Motor Co. Ltd.'s Acura.
In the truck classification, Toyota products, once again, came out the winners with the Tacoma compact pickup truck and T100 full-size pickup truck leading the way.
New Technology Eliminates Ugly Auto Paint Scrapes and Scratches
Quick, Affordable & Permanent Touch-Up Paint Service
Scrapes and scratches on a car's finish are unattractive and bothersome whether they are on a new vehicle or an old one. Some people go to the extreme to park their car out of harm's way, but even these efforts can be futile when rocks and debris from the road end up doing the damage. With the help of automotive technology, minor scratches you thought would cost a fortune to fix, are now repairable. This new process not only saves you money on your car repair, but also time.
This restoration process -- far superior to any on the market and guaranteed to match the toughest colors (even metallics, pearls and tri-coats) -- is now available as a franchised business from NOVUS.
"We're introducing North America to a fresh concept that has been unavailable to motorists until now," announced Terry Smith, vice president of NOVUS Franchise Relations. "NOVUS factory-trained technicians are able to precisely match a vehicle's factory paint, remove dings, chips and scratches, and return the car to the customer the same day," says Smith, "and the work is guaranteed for life."
The newest advance from NOVUS is unprecedented in quality and value. Quick, reasonably priced and convenient, the NOVUS Paint Restoration System flawlessly corrects many types of paint problems -- from key nicks to minor rust on metal. While body shops and auto dealers use standard automotive paint and treat large areas (entire panels, for example) using liberal amounts of materials, NOVUS advanced formulas allow technicians to focus on repairing only damaged areas-enabling faster, precisely-matched repairs, with no need to remove door handles or moldings. At the same time, the environmentally-safe NOVUS chemical formula permanently bonds to the car affording a body shop finish which never falls out or peels.
"Now owners of cars, trucks, motorcycles and motor-homes can have their vehicles restored to the original factory surface," adds Smith. "We can return a vehicle the same day free of blemishes, discoloration, swirl marks and with a shine that will not wash off, peel or crack." Tested on thousands of vehicles in extreme weather conditions for more than a decade, the paint products have been proven to be of such high caliber and so durable that NOVUS guarantees the quality for as long as the customer owns the vehicle.
Smith explains, "NOVUS uses a special paint formula that not only precisely matches any paint color and texture, it also has a magical feature that picks up the characteristics of the paint around it. This causes the new and old paint to shine equally, or, fade at the same rate as the original color fades, thus achieving and maintaining an extraordinary color match, even on metallic, pearl and tri-coat finishes.
"All work that we do is treated to the special NOVUS glaze, which offers UV protection and safeguards vehicles from acid rain and other environmental hazards."
The new service has generated outstanding response among car enthusiasts wherever tested, according to Steve Velde, technical trainer for the NOVUS Paint Restoration System. "Unequaled convenience and high quality appeal to motorists who take special care of the vehicles, as well as those who simply take pride in their cars or want to restore the finish or eliminate chips when thinking in terms of increasing their cars' value. We've also attracted the attention of wholesale customers such as fleets, leasing companies, new and used car dealers, rental agencies and insurance companies seeking to repair their vehicles with a minimal amount of down-time."
In addition to providing expert paint restoration, NOVUS technicians have repaired damaged windshields in more than 20 million car and truck windshields for corporations, fleets, government agencies and individual motorists. NOVUS franchisees also replace windshields that are damaged beyond repair. NOVUS Franchising Inc. has nearly 500 locations throughout the United States and Canada.
