Last update: June 8, 2000. New website & domain will be up and running soon: contests to celebrate will follow.  Chorus pedal news: the chips that power these things are no longer being made, but we've got more than enough for a good production run (a couple hundred or so.) For the impatient, here's a sound sample in RealAudio format. Projected price for the all analog chorus is $145. The Pitchkicker, a combination octave and fuzz device, is available via custom order only. Price is $95 including shipping in North America. E-mail for more info. Dialtone Effects are used by Linton, IN's Charles Lapointe (Whisky Bride) and guitarist extraordinaire Nitty Irving - nittyirving's curb shout has sounds of the Fuzzt in action.

Current production models:

Please inquire for custom options (tuning for specific guitar/pickups/amp, special color, graphics, etc.) Specify knob preference when ordering (black 7 point type or blue/yellow/red top cylinder). Click here for email & orders.

1)  Crunchbox.  If a more transparent overdrive with a little distortion flavor is what you're looking for, check out the Crunchbox.  The Crunchbox is a very deep and full sounding overdrive with a balanced high end, crunchy midrange, and lots of low end, making it suitable for guitar or bass.  Using 2-stage MOSFET based circuitry, two gain modes (rhythm and lead) are selectable via footswitch.  The single Gain control is tuned for clean boost at one extreme and fuzzy overdrive at the other.  With the Gain control cranked, you get a sound reminescent of a cranked up tube amp with the speakers distorting.  Dynamics and string separation are maintained throughout the range of the Gain control, with the Tone control adding or removing presence without being harsh.  To augment the lead mode, the Comp control allows you to add more distortion and sustain (active in rhythm mode also.)  If you're looking for a tone that will complement your amp without the generic "screamer" tone of other pedals, check out the Crunchbox. $115 Real Audio Sound Sample.

driveman2) Driveman. Custom labelled model without rock/jazz switch pictured. NOW NEW AND IMPROVED! The Driveman provides five selectable tones in a single pedal, up to three of them footswitchable. The quality of the overdrive is smooth and rich sounding, with an emphasis on even order harmonics. Two modes of infinitely adjustable overdrive are selectable via footswitch. The first mode (Clean) is low gain, perfect for boosting an amp with a bit of grit or for crunchy rhythm textures. The second mode (Drive) is medium/high gain, good for leads or fatter rhythm tones. For lead breaks, step on the More footswitch for an instant violin-like solo tone. This function removes all the gain reducing elements in the signal path to extract the maximum amount of distortion and sustain from the pedal. If cleaner sounds are your thing, toggle the Mode switch to remove any trace of compressed distortion for increased dynamics & volume (More function inactive). Knobs include gain controls for the Clean and Drive modes, a cut/boost Tone control, and a neutral Volume control for even, smooth response. Sound sample in RealAudio (first lick clean, following three licks show increasing drive levels). $125

clonebender3) Clonebender. A fuzz pedal using circuitry based on the three knob Sola Sound / Colorsound Tonebender. Three selected germanium transistors ensure an authentic '60s style sound - there's no silicon in this pedal! The Fuzz control adds volume and fuzzy grit. The addition of an external Drive control allows you to fine tune the gain structure of the unit, from lightly distorted to total fuzz. The Tone control has been improved, compensating for mids when you turn up the treble & vice versa. Using the Drive & Tone knobs with your guitar's volume control makes the Clonebender highly adept at a variety of fuzz sounds. Sample settings include American Silicon, Fat British and Dark Synth. A sweet, sweet fuzz tone that cleans up when you back off your guitar volume. Housed in a glossy jet black case with hand painted POD PEOPLE graphics (see left; and we don't mean anything from Line 6!) Don't you dare fall asleep! Sound samples in Real Audio format. $95

4) Fuzzt2.  Controls for volume, fuzz, spit (hi), barf (mid), eat (lo), oscillation. This is a complex pedal, perfect for all you noisemaking crazies out there. The volume and fuzz controls are self explanatory; the spit (hi) control regulates the amount of "phelgm" (high end fuzz in the decay of the signal, like a presence control), eat (mid) adjusts the "throat" (amount of swell and midrange in the signal, increasing gain but also sustain), barf (low)adjusts the low end fuzz output for a tighter sound or more mushiness (high pass filter). The oscillation control adjusts the pitch & volume of oscillation in the cleaner mode, hitting the OSC toggle switch cuts in random shrieks and howls at will (synced via LFO to input). All controls are highly interactive, being more than simple EQ or fuzz controls. Use it as a regular fuzz (in the cleaner mode) or in the oscillation mode with a synthesizer. $120

boostboy jr.5) Boostboy Jr.  Custom 2 mode unit pictured.  A super simple, germanium transistor treble booster pedal with selectable frequency emphasis, and a single Volume control. Hint hint, this is a Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster type pedal, think of all the Brian May and bluesbreaker Clapton tones you'll get! (guaranteed only if your name is Brian May or Eric Clapton, though.)  Click here for a RealAudio sound sample (first half with amp set clean, second half with Boostboy Jr. added). Now comes with EQ selector switch, choose between six EQ emphasis modes. $75

powderkeg6) Powderkeg. Fuzz, fuzz, FUZZ!!  Newly revised - "black" and "blue" models combined into a single pedal. This new circuit combines the best qualities of the Black and Blue Powderkeg models into a single pedal. The range of the Gain control has been widened, allowing sonic textures from a subtle overdrive to full raging fuzz, eating Big Muffs for lunch. The Tone control sweeps from high to low, emphasizing bright highs and fat mids to growling lows, all without muddiness. Low noise construction for clear tone. If you’re looking for crunchy ovedrive and fat fuzz in a single pedal, this may be just your ticket. Sound samples: Black setting: RealAudio. Blue setting: RealAudio. $100
