| We came to Canada in 1966 and after working
in the Toronto, Ontario area for a few years, mainly programming in IBM
assembler language, I moved to Cambridge while working at McMaster University
in Hamilton where I was a computer software specialist concentrating originally
on mainframe communications. During my later years there I supported
30 Unix network servers. I took early retirement from McMaster achieving
my ambition to retire before I was 60.
My hobbies over the years included rugby and
cricket at which I once considered turning professional. I was also
a rugby referee. Another interest was gardening and am a past president
of the Preston, Cambridge horticultural society. I was also interested
in politics and am the Past President of a Riding Association.
Apart from the Internet, especially #coro_street and watching Coronation
Street, my interests include attending pings, walking, dog training and
reading. I read an average of 3 books a week. My dog Kadi has
now received 16 weeks of agility training and we are waiting for warmer
weather so we can continue outdoors.
Last year I was appointed the Returning Officer
for the Provincial Riding of Cambridge and have been busy doing a geographic
assessment of the Riding ready for the next Election. |
