| Hello, my name is Nancy.
As the primary heir apparent to the vast Coca
Cola fortune, I often have difficulty relating to the little people. My
people recommended I watch a certain British television program called
Coronation Street to learn more about what the common man does with his
quaint little life and I must say I’ve found it extremely educational.
As a connoisseur of the finest claret ever
produced in the provinces, I find it fascinating to see what horrifying
concoctions people with incomes of under 1.5 million per annum are prepared
to ingest. Speaking as someone with a standing reservation at Tiffany's,
I confess I shudder every time I hear someone order a hot pot and thank
my great grandfather (may he rest in peace in his $463,000 mausoleum) for
rescuing me from a life where $1.98 earrings are considered the height
of fashion.
I have continued my research by conversing
regularly with a group who gather on the net under the IRC umbrella #coro_street
and they have also taught me much. Without this group, I would never have
known that a pop-up actually has nothing to do with a few glasses of red
wine and a naked roll with the rich millionaire of your choice in front
of a blazing fire fuelled by tens and twenties.
What do the rabble do for fun when their polo
ponies pull up lame? How do commoners handle the annoyance of delays aboard
their private jets when the Master Chef announces a late delivery of fresh
baggettes that will push the departure ahead by an unacceptable four and
a half minutes? Where do the rank and file store their furs and priceless
diamond tiara collections?
So many questions!
So much to learn!
And this is just the place to ferret out such
edification.
Your indescribably wealthy scion buddy,
Nancy
OKAY! OKAY! Everyone stop emailing me for
a loan! I'll tell a bit of the truth now. :) Yes, my name really is Nancy,
that part was true but as for the rest, well..........*grin*
I am actually not so wealthy, but would love
to be! I am a medical laboratory technologist and work at the Canadian
Red Cross. Have to keep buying those scratch tickets I suppose. :) I have
been an avid fan of Coronation Street for about 10 years and like Jewelly
and KeithP, am a card carrying member of the Sunday morning Corrie breakfast
club...that is, when I'm awake that early. Otherwise I tape it Sunday mornings
and watch it in my pjs when I get up Sunday afternoon. :)
I usually work afternoons and nights so I
keep
weird hours in the channel but love chatting to all my friends there about
Coronation Street and well, whatever else pops up. I do occasionally try
to stay on topic. You'll notice I said occasionally. *smile*
I am not going to do one of those list thingys
that everyone else seems to have on their bio...my favourite, least favourite
etc. because frankly, I just don't have the energy to type that all out.
:) My typing skills, or should I say lack thereof, are quite well known
in the channel. Besides, it's Friday, Trivia Night on the channel so I
have to preserve my typing fingers for the task ahead. :) If you are interested
in my Coronation Street favs, just ask me in the channel, I'll be glad
to tell you of my obsessions. :) ***************** |
