Some words to begin with: (note: you don't have to read all this boring junk but you will be accountable for all this information- ick, I sound like my History teacher.)

In the true Chun Li spirit of trying to do too many things at once, I have reinvented the award scheme at apartment 201 and created an awards scheme for fire flower! I have saved myself some time though by combining the two. The apartment 201 award scheme: long latent, it has now sprung anew for a number of reasons. 1) the gem of the day award doesn't do it for me anymore- too plain and done completely in microsoft photo editor when I now have adobe photoshop 5.0! (thank you roger!) So this is an attempt to showcase the brave and changing apartment 201. 2) I deleted the old pages. I think. They may be still floating around somewhere but I intend to squash that as quickly as possible. *squash, squash* ugly pages. 3) I have new criteria. Yes I have a criteria section (again) though no one read it the last time. 4) The award scheme came back because I like giving and getting awards. I know everyone says that they're stupid and meaningless in the SM community, an offspring of over-egotistical newbies, but I think that there are some seriously nice things that can come of it.

For those of you still with us.....

Okay, here's the deal. The image above is the award: "Apartment 201's Spotlight Site"* Award. The image at the bottom of this page is the fireflower "A Luminous Site" Award. No they do not have borders; they are only within ugly tables. I know that the spirit of awards schemes is very paranoid and hardly anyone ever puts the actual award on the page because someone might steal it but it's easy enough to steal it off some real winner's page so there's no point in creating the same image with a stupid SAMPLE logo on it. You don't need a Jupiter site or a Sailor Kakyuu site to win either of these awards. You don't even have to mention them. If you dislike them, I won't hold that against you. (well, for the award anyway.....=D j/k seriously- opinions other than mine are okay) It must be Sailormoon or anime themed though.

Criteria

-no hentai. I don't care if you think hentai is the best thing since playgirl (ew ew) but not on my G-rated happy site are you going to get an award.

-easy navigation- Include links with titles that describe the page or include descriptions or some way of me knowing where I'm going. Everything should be organized fairly well so that if I'm looking for, say, the info page, I can find it. Oh, and I really hate it when every link opens up a new window. *shudder*

-mostly accurate info- minor slip-ups are okay and everyone does them but nothing like "Makoto is really Sailormoon in disguise!"

-no really loud midis- give me controls if you have midis!

-no javascript errors

-no under construction logos! can't stand those! I don't like watching the little stick figure dig! (If you don't know what I mean, well, I guess you're almost normal then.)

-have something interesting on your page. If you carbon copied your wonderful page from every other SM page, why do YOU deserve an award?

spend time on your page. learn to love it. okay, you don't have to but do something with your page that took more than an hour. that seems a little long but if you knew how long it took to make apartment 201....you'd be frightened of me. =P

Too much criteria? Well, it's my award and I'm not asking you to change your page to suit my whims but I would also like to say that I don't just give this award out like brussel sprouts (I was going to say candy, but I wouldn't give my candy away! =D). And I fully understand that you can make a page any way that you want to, but don't expect me to award you for it.

Application

I would put a form, but geez I'm too lazy. So if you're not too lazy, just email me (notice that it's a different email than I normally use.) Give me your URL, title, name, email, what award you want, favorite Beatle, your tired masses yearning to breathe free.** You must nominate your own site. I don't give this award to people who might not want it. I don't think that I could take that kind of rejection. =I By applying, you silently acknowledge that this decision is mine and mine alone. I have the right to award you the award if you deserve it or not or vice versa. Well, I wouldn't give out an award to a site that didn't deserve it (unless they send large sums of cash. =D) but you should just understand that flaming me would be stupid and useless. You're silently telling that you're a good sport about this and your whole world will not collapse if I don't give you the award. You also might want to tell me if you would like to be notified if you didn't get the award. I used to think that obviously you should be informed of this but it's so difficult for me to do that if you really want to know, you should say it. Otherwise, no reply from me means no award. ick- I know it sounds mean but I hate writing emails saying that people haven't won. =P

*different from the Site in the Spotlight is given to people who don't apply and there is no award graphic for that but they can apply for this award and will probably get it.
in the Links section of apartment 201 because the Site in the Spotlight **not directly quoted from Emma Lazarus but fairly/remotely close. Lookie- a winner's page! Award Stealers, watch out! You shall be found!

Let's see them winners!

Back I say!
