THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE

'A PERFECT 10'

BOYNE HILL 2ND XL 92 ALL OUT

WINDSOR CC 2ND XL 95 - 0
MARK HUGGINS 57*

WINDSOR WON BY 10 WKTS.

Windsor travelled to local rivals Boyne Hill on Saturday & recorded a
perfect 10 wicket victory in a faultless display.
Boyne Hill batted first & they were soon pushed onto the backfoot. Kev Condon
made the initial breakthrough, taking a wicket with his first delivery. Nathan
Silvey then removed Firth with a slower one & Boyne Hill were struggling on 6-2.
'Speeding bullet' Silvey continues to extract pace from Englands' sodden pitches
& he snapped a stump when beating Broadhurst for pace as he collected his second
wicket. Silvey & Condon are proving to be a potent combination with the new
ball. Silvey made way to Bob Pearce, the oldest swinger in town, who mesmerised
the batsmen with his induckers as he recorded figures of 7-5-8-4. Kev Newman &
Richie Endacott chipped in as Boyne Hill were dismissed for 92.
The bowlers were ably assisted by the fielders, in particular Andy Wigley who
snaffled a couple of screamers at midwicket.

In reply, a brief shower delayed Windsors' reply but the biggest storm of
the day was just about to erupt upon the match, namely 'Hurricane Huggins'.
Mark Huggins is a clean striker of the ball and is best described as an
'elongated Ally Brown'. His play is based on strength, a good eye & a sound
technique. He was at his belligerent best on Saturday as the ball sped off his
willow to the boundary like a exocet. The bowlers were akin to the 'Star Wars
defence system' & they were incapable of stopping the missile in it's tracks.
Shepherd, Muliani, Bowen & Norton all attempted to knock the hurricane off
course but he blasted his way to an impressive half century, which included
11boundaries.

At the other end David Spindlow progressed serenely as he caressed the ball to
the ropes. The first fifty was passed in the 10th over before Huggins (57*) in
particular & Spindlow (33*) went into overdrive as they passed Boyne Hills'
total without loss in the 14th over.
