Numinous Corpus (Geographical Features)

Obviously, Servitors of Stone first discovered this Song. It's fairly odd, even for a Numinous Corpus: the performer may actually merge him or herself into a geographical feature (made out of stone or rock) for an indefinite period. Most prefer mountains: a very few old Servitors of Oannes know a variant that substitutes bodies of water, but no one's duplicated the effect yet.

While in this state, the performer is effectively immobile, but does retain the powers of sight: in fact, the performer enjoys limited 360-degree vision while in this state. With a Perception roll, the performer may shift his awareness, allowing him or her to 'see' something as if they were on the outside of the geographical feature that they're borrowing, rather than the inside. However, while the Song is active the performer loses all other senses, and may not communicate to anyone besides a Superior. This includes any and all Song use: also, physical activities are effectively impossible for the performer while merged with the rock.

Duration is normally for one day (the performer may choose to end the Song at any time): however, he or she may choose to instead dedicate the daily flow of Essence to powering the Song. If this is done, the performer will remain undetectable to anyone except a Superior while the Song is active. Unfortunately, this also means that the performer will experience only one day of subjective time for every hundred that goes on in the outside world. Either use of the Song also provides very effective protection: the geographical feature possessed would have to be utterly destroyed before the singer would be vulnerable to damage.

This is an old Song. In fact, it's said that the angel who originally discovered it eventually possessed a small island in order to gain some uninterrupted time to work out an especially abstruse problem, and hasn't yet quite noticed that by now it's possessing Australia…
