Demon of Lack of Sleep: Lupe can use his resonance
(at -3) to keep a human awake for one day.
This will lead to a minus of -1 to all rolls per day of missed sleep (up
to -3). Should the target go two days or
more without sleep, he or she will start taking one Body and CD Mind hits a
day, as well. Lupe can only do this to
one person at a time.
Causing things to blow up,
one insomniac at a time. That's Lupe for you.
Maybe Belial shouldn't have gotten that particular
Word - but it is certainly destructive, not to mention a mocking parody of the
drives that cause servants of *Divine* Fire to push themselves beyond normal
limits. It's not entirely surprising
that Infernal Fire would want it, in other words. Nor is it too surprising that Belial gave the
Word to a Calabite: add insult to injury, and push it until it bleeds.
What is surprising is that Lupe isn't half bad at
getting other people to wreck their lives (instead of just going ahead and
wrecking their lives for them). By the
refined standards of Factions or Fate he's quite crude, of course, but Lupe
apparently had a bit of an innate histrionic streak to him, which has served
him in good stead.
Generally speaking, Lupe works on the bellwether
theory: he finds the person in a group whose sudden lack of sleep will either
a) cause things to blow up, or b) encourage everyone else to go without sleep
(petty tyrants, in other words), thus enhancing the possibility of lots of
things blowing up. It seems to work well
enough to keep his
Personality (or, in Calabite terms, how nasty is
he)? Well, Calabite,
works for Infernal Fire, immune to regular fire, favorite Rite is the one about
mass immolation. Do I need to spell it
out?
