Angel of Mathematics: Liwet simply sees the universe differently than most people. Every kind of behavior or activity can be at least described by a type of uber-pure mathematical notation that only she and Jean can fully comprehend. As a result, she has a focus that other Seraphim can only envy (in game terms, Liwet adds her appropriate Forces to any regular Skill or Characteristic roll, including defaults).
Rites:
: Read a mathematical journal.
: Correct a mathematical journal's mistakes - without reference to any reference materials (+2).
: Spend two hours performing any useful mathematical calculations.
Liwet has been Jean's primary laboratory assistant / research partner for the last few centuries. As such, she has spent most of her existence in the Halls of Progress, although she has recently begun to appear more often on the corporeal plane.
Liwet is, in many ways, the perfect Servitor of Lightning: she is dedicated to the Truth, a tireless researcher and scientist, and lives her Word day and night. As intimated above, the Angel of Mathematics sees her Word everywhere: she can directly perceive the equations implicit in a morning breeze or a flowing brook. Her Word may not be quite Superior-level, but she is certainly powerful, and deadly dangerous in combat. Those who fight her soon discover that every trick, every feint, every stratagem has been blatantly telegraphed to her, and countered in the simplest, most efficient manner possible. It is a rare angel that can fool the Angel of Mathematics.
Her personality seems to be friendly but faintly distant: note the use of the word 'seems'. Frankly, most angels have difficulty holding a conversation with her, unless they happen to be expert mathematicians: oddly enough, certain blessed souls - notably Lobachevsky - working in the Halls of Progress seem to have no such problems. In fact, it's said that every human mathematician in Heaven is desperately in love with her, to the point of writing plaintive equations and treatises in glory of her and reciting them under her window. Jean seems to tolerate the practice, only appearing to correct particularly egregious flaws in the logic.
Her appearance several centuries ago in Heaven was somewhat abrupt: she was apparently created fully-fledged. It's certain that at least some of Jean's personal Forces were used to create Liwet: the similarities in their celestial appearance is obvious (and, of course, indescribable to a corporeal viewer). However, it's equally obvious that Jean did not provide all of Liwet's Forces.
A few older angels have - well, not knowledge, but strong suspicions - of Liwet's other 'parent'. They remember another Elohite with the same certain quirk of brow and grace of movements as Liwet. They remember that Elohite's last act of bravery as she destroyed an abomination. They remember the Archangel of Lightning's face set in stone as he watched a sacrifice that he was powerless to prevent ... and a few even remember that he was the last one to leave the scene.
Those angels contemplate the meanings inherent in Liwet's name, and quietly respect Jean's memories...
