Kedawiel

Seraph Scholar of Ineffability

Forces: 15 (probably)

Word Forces: 17? 21? "D"?

Total number of Resource Points: Err... umm... come on, he's an NPC anyway.

Vessel: well, he has one. Looks like at least level/4, and Charisma +1, but don’t quote me on this one.

Skills: Kedawiel has demonstrated at least some skill in Chemistry, Detect Lies, Dodge, Emote, Fast-Talk, Fighting, several Languages, a whole lot of Knowledge skills (but that just might be the Master of Divine Knowledge Attunement), Large Weapon (sword), Ranged Weapons (pistol), Tactics and Throwing. It's hard to tell, really.

Role: Not a one. I think.

Songs: Again, he's demonstrated Correspondence, Daydreams, Empathy, Healing, Light, Location, Motion, a couple of Numinous Corpi, Sanctity, Shields, Storms, Symphony, Tongues and Truth. It's suspected that he knows the Trisagion and Visions. Don't bother asking.

Attunements: Seraphim of Destiny, Ofanite of Destiny, Malakite of Destiny, all of Yves' Servitor Attunements and Rites, Master of Divine Knowledge (Kyriotate), Scholar of Ineffability, and God, Dominic, Litheroy, Michael and Yves know what else.

Angel of Ineffability:

1). Kedawiel seems to very protean: once per day, he can shift his Forces and Attributes to any legal combination. He can also apparently do this at any time, if he pays 3 Essence. Can he transcend normal limits? Beats me…

2). Kedawiel is immune to Seraphim, Elohite, Malakite and Mercurian resonance rolls, unless they originate from a Superior. A demonic resonance simply won't work at all, except for Djinn.

3). Kedawiel, obviously, has knowledge of the unknowable equal to that of a Seraph Archangel. I only bring it up to forestall the inevitable wiseacres.

4). Fnord.

Rites: Whatever it is, it usually gives him at least 3 Essence a day, in addition to everything else.

Get used to hearing the phrase "It is unknown how/why/what…" when the Angel of Ineffability comes up in conversation. Yves knows about Kedawiel, no doubt: so do Dominic, Litheroy and Michael. Alas, getting a comprehensible answer out of any of them is just as futile.

What we do know is that Kedawiel has been around for at least three thousand years: at least, that's the earliest reliable mention of him, and he was already a Word-bound then. He seems to be one of Yves' troubleshooters, but that's just speculation. What is relatively certain is that Kedawiel has a knack for arriving on the scene just before something happens that's relevant to Destiny. Or maybe he makes things relevant to Destiny by showing up. Seraphim find that shrugging a lot helps when contemplating this angel.

In person, Kedawiel is actually pretty good company, if you don't mind interacting with someone who seems to be reading from a different script than the rest of the universe. If he offers to help out with something, prudent angels let him help. They may go mad trying to figure out precisely what he's doing to help, but the results are usually good. Eventually.

Needless to say, Kedawiel drives demons insane (well, he drives angels insane as well, but they're usually politer about it). Unfortunately, the one thing that has been proven, over and over in the last few millennia, is that the Angel of Ineffability is starkly dangerous in a fight. No doubt a Demon Prince would be able to take him down, but they never seem to be able to catch up with him.

What on Earth makes you think I know why?
