Demon of Diplomats: Jimbo has the functional equivalent of Malphas' Imbroglio Attunement, except that it only works on those at least willing to seek a violent resolution to a conflict and costs no Essence to use (indeed, it's always on).  Also, anyone affected by the previous power will react to Jimbo at +2.

Rites:

Start a fistfight at a diplomatic conference (2 Essence).

No, not Diplomacy: the Word is Diplomats.  That's a Real Important difference, there.  If it was Diplomacy, Jimbo would be screwed, screwed, screwed: he wouldn't be able to promote his Word without dissonance.  Sure, Calabim are supposed to feel the burn, and Hardcore is all about pushing it until it bleeds - but there's a limit.  Pushing yourself to death is Hardcore, sure, but not as much as pushing other people.  Diplomats, on the other hand - yeah, you can work with that and still be running with Furfur.

The trick isn't so much to ensure a particular response as it is to make the choice binary.  People got a dispute, they send in the diplomats.  Now, maybe it isn't a big or violent dispute, so they can work it all out calmly.  Not Jimbo's bag, but he can sit and watch quietly enough.  But if they're thinking about pulling out some of that old ultraviolence anyway, well, who needs peace?  The real trick is encouraging the rest of the talking monkeys to be more accepting of the idea that (for example) an economic conference that ends with a declaration of war isn't necessarily a failure.  Tricky, but it can be done.

You might have guessed that Baal gets along better with Jimbo than he does with Jimbo's Prince; of course, Jimbo used to work for Baal and Furfur didn't, so maybe not.  This doesn't make Furfur nearly as nerv... excuse, "alert"...  as does the fact that Asmodeus doesn't seem to be too exercised over one of his old Words now belonging to Hardcore.  As usual, the Game's probably got something brewing; Furfur puts up with it because, well, what else is he supposed to do?  Getting the good Words isn't exactly guaranteed, and Jimbo's got the potential to go places.  Serious places, actually: the demon could actually be mistaken for being genteel (bearing in mind Jimbo's Band and Word).

Still, how did Jimbo end up with the Word of Diplomats?  Your guess is as good as his: he's been pushing for the honor for a while, but he was expecting, eh, "Bleeding Eardrums" or "Indiscriminate Automatic Weapons Fire" or something else suitably over the top when he was up for a medium-powered Word.  But you work with what they give you.  Furfur's got him on a crash diet of improvement, elocution and etiquette.  You can imagine what the teachers can be like, but it's actually not working out too badly.  Jimbo's still a Freak, in all senses of the word, but he can spell complex words, knows how and when to blather on about nothing in particular and even will even use the right fork three times out of four.

Just try to ignore the sorry shape of the top hat.
