Lust-Based Sorcery
It is profoundly amusing how quickly the mere
mention of this discipline makes Sorcerous ears perk up. This should tell the wise (or at least even
the moderately well-socialized) everything that they need to know about the
lifestyle choices one must make to pursue Sorcery... but, when it comes to
power, how many are truly wise? Lust-based Sorcery is pretty much consistent with
the rest of the discipline: that is to say, a ego-driven embrace of the belief
in one's own intrinsic puissance, regardless of all reason and evidence to the
contrary. Its practitioners go to considerable time, effort and risk to achieve
their effects - and very rarely ask themselves why. Granted, why is a question not often asked in Sorcery, but surely
soap and water are not that disgusting to the touch... New Sorcerous Skill: Control (Will) This skill allows the Sorcerer to exert his Will
against himself. While this may seem an
odd skill to have, as Sorcerers generally have high Wills for humans, it's
necessary: the rituals that draw on this skill can have disastrous physical
effects on an unprotected body. In game
terms, a failed Control ritual will do Body Hits equal to half of the higher
of (the CD of a failed roll or the level of Control), rounded up. Even a successful Control roll will do 1
Body hit to the Sorcerer. Control Rituals
Exquisite (Control/1) The Sorcerer's nerve endings become extremely
sensitive to pleasurable sensations, to the point where a mere touch can
provoke a fit of erotic ecstasy; one can well imagine what actual sexual
activity feels like while under the influence of this ritual. The effects last for fifteen minutes;
technically, the ritual can be extended longer, but even the Control skill
cannot allow the Sorcerer hold off the drastic physical stresses
indefinitely. A continuous hour of
Exquisite would kill even the strongest human (in fact, use of this ritual is
the preferred method of suicide among Lust-Sorcerers). On a botched activation roll, the Sorcerer's nerve
endings become extremely sensitive, period: any physical damage done to the
Sorcerer during this time period will also cause CD Mind Hits from the
heightened pain. This explicitly
includes the regular damage done by a botched Control roll. Time: 5 minutes Essence: 2 Buff (Control/2) This ritual allows the Sorcerer to subtly improve
his or her appearance and physique through force of Will: this cannot be used
to disguise the user, however. Think
cosmetic surgery; this ritual is the Sorcerous equivalent of temporary breast
implants, liposuction, face peeling or any other similar procedure. The general result is a reaction bonus equal
to half the Sorcerer's level of Control, rounded up, and the effects last for
two hours. On a botched activation roll, the effects subtract
(CD of the roll) from all reaction rolls made by the Sorcerer for the same
amount of time. Time: 10 minutes Essence: 2 Satyr/Nymph (Control/3) The Sorcerer becomes capable of prolonged sexual
activity for CD hours, under any circumstances or conditions whatsoever. He or she will also be effectively Lustful
(at the same level as of the Control skill) for the same amount of time. This ritual can be 'maintained' for an additional
1 Essence and 1 Body hit per additional CD hours. Unlike other rituals, a botched activation roll
appears to have no ill effects... except that attempting to end the
experience requires a Will -3 roll; if failed, the Sorcerer will continue to
suffer the effects until out of Essence, or dead. Time: 25 minutes Essence: 1 Alluring (Control/4) This ritual stimulates the production of pheromones
associated with sexual desirability.
Any human within five feet must roll versus Will -1; if failed, the
victim will act Lustful towards the Sorcerer, at a level equal to the CD of the
original Control roll. The effects last
for an hour. A botched activation roll will stimulate the wrong
pheromones: the GM may substitute Lustful with any Ethereal Discord that amuses
him. Time: 30 minutes Essence: 3 Tantra (Control/5) The Sorcerer has complete and total control over his
or her body, including involuntary functions such as breathing, heart rate and
brain activity. Use of this ritual
allows the Sorcerer to (for example) go up to CD minutes without breathing,
decrease (or increase!) the effects of a drug with a Will Roll, add the CDs to
all Strength rolls to resist poison, ignore pain (and stunning)... but most
adepts simply use it to map out more and more arcane forms of sexual
stimulation. The effects last for (CD x
Control/level) minutes. A botched activation roll depresses involuntary
functions to the point where the Sorcerer must make a Will +4 roll per turn to
keep his heart beating. For every five turns missed (cumulative!), the Sorcerer
takes a Body Hit. Time to cast: 5 minutes Essence: 4 Elan Vital (Control/6) Sorcerers fight and scheme to get access to this
ritual, as it allows them to steal CD Body Hits via sex. The Sorcerer must be engaged in voluntary
and continuous sexual activity with the specific victim for the entire activation
time listed below. A botched activation roll - well, this ritual is
very reliable, for those worthy of it, so it's normally not liable to happen
anyway. On those unfortunate (so to
speak) occasions where the Sorcerer is unworthy, sloppy, rushed or attracts the
attention of the Divine - let's just say that cleaning up the resulting corpse
requires not much in the way of specialized equipment. A can of paint plus roller will do. Time: 2 hours Essence: 5 Variations on Other Sorcerous Rituals
Lust-Sorcerers can learn other Sorcerous Skills and
Rituals, and often do. Below are some
special variants, hindrances and benefits Banish and Exorcise
Lust-Sorcerers (being defined as any Sorcerer with
at least Control/1) are at -2 to Banish or Exorcise any Servitor of Lust and
Ethereals with either the Emotions: Lust strand or affinity, and at -1 to
Banish or Exorcise any demon or ethereal with which they have engaged in sexual
activity (these penalties do not stack).
If this penalty would cause the ritual to fail, the demon or ethereal
has the option of allowing itself to be Banished or Exorcised anyway: there are
times when it is useful to look weaker than one really is. Command
Lust-Sorcerers are at +1 in their Suggest rolls,
provided that they are attempting to coerce sexual activity out of another
mortal. They universally think
that they have incredible bonuses in likewise coercing sex from Servitors of
Lust and/or Ethereals with the Lust strand/affinity; this is untrue, but quite
often irrelevant. Focus
Lust-Sorcerers may successfully perform Sacrifice
for Essence and Siphon Essence without penalty at one level lower than normal,
provided that they: a, possess the Control skill at a level one lesser than the
appropriate Focus level normally needed; and b, are engaged in sexual activity
with the victim at the time that the ritual is cast. If this option is pursued, calculate Body Hits as normal. Also, the ritual Store Essence can be cast on the
Sorcerer himself at Control/3 or above.
In addition to the normal Body Hit damage, the Sorcerer will take one
Body Hit per day as long as any Essence is stored in this fashion. Summoning
Lust Sorcerers are at +2 to Summon Servitors of
Lust, and also have access to Summoning rituals for specific Bands of Servitors
of Lust, which they can cast normally.
They also have a special ritual: Summon Random Ethereal (of a specific type)
(Summon/2) This is functionally equivalent to Summon Random
Demon (of a specific type), except that ethereals are Summoned instead of
demons. Lust-Sorcerers currently only
know two rituals: Summon Ethereal with the Emotions: Lust Strand and Summon
Ethereal with the Emotions: Lust Affinity.
Other types of Sorcerers are interested in reverse-engineering the
rituals, in the hopes of expanding the repertoire: Lust-Sorcerers could care
less. Time: 1 hour Essence: the check digit |
