Don't go Renegade.  Don't go Renegade from the service of Kronos.  Don't go Renegade from the service of Kronos and get caught by the Game.  And don't, don't, don't go Renegade from the service of Kronos, get caught by the Game, and arrogantly refuse the 'suggestion' from the Most Dread Prince of the Game  himself that you decide that it's time to start working for him, now.

Not that this sort of thing happens every time that Asmodeus is personally refused, of course.  Then again, the fact that it has, once, is quite enough to ensure that such things are rare.  Given the amount of trouble Asmodeus had to go through in "rearranging" the Renegade, it's just as well.

While the above object lesson was the original point of the exercise, it can be said with some confidence that Asmodeus is not actively displeased that the Chair Leg of Truth can be used for other purposes.  The ability to determine the actual Truth of a statement can be sometimes convenient to the Game - although, really, what is Truth? - but Seraphim are inherently untrustworthy and Balseraphim of Fate are all quite mad.  It's much, much simpler to have a large wooden chair leg that can tell you when someone is lying to you.  Admittedly, its supernatural abilities cannot compel a truthful response... but the Djinn and Calabim who typically get assigned this artifact find that beating a lying miscreant with the Chair Leg of Truth works amazingly well, all on its own.

You want to know more about the Renegade who is currently providing the Most Dread Prince of the Game this involuntary service?  Very interesting.  Tell me, for just how long have you been interested in the ways of Renegades?

Yes, that is a chair leg that the Calabite is holding.  Answer the question, please.
