| NorthEast Greyhound Rankings are based differently than those of the National Greyhound Association. The N.G.A. determines the country's top sire's based on number of total wins that sire's siblings have over the last 4 years, it's not an accurate reading of what really is taking place at the racetracks. EXAMPLE: Sire (A) may be listed #1 having 500 pups on the track over 4 years with a total of 2,000 wins. Sire (A) is ranked #1 solely based on his pups wins, not on the % of those pups winning the top grades. Sire (B) is ranked 23rd having 500 pups and 1,000 wins, who should be ranked #1? The answer is sire (B), breaking it down into a % it looks like this: 50% of sire (B) pups have won top grade while only 25% of sire (A) pups have won top grade. The NGA rankings don't reflect the true number's of what really is. Each month NEGC will update the latest sire standings using the % of pups winning top grade. To make the NEGC ranking list the sire must have a minimum 500 pups on the racetrack circuit. Only the top 25 sire's will be listed. |
