Notes for Beginners

• Organising rounders games in Cambridge is completely informal with no central control or leagues. Just pick a team from the list and give them a call.
• Teams generally consist of around 9 players, but +/- 4 is not uncommon.
• If your opponents fail to turn up, or the rest of your team fails to turn up, ask to join or band together with another match. Most teams have a motto of "more the merrier".
• It's quite friendly to agree to declare on 15! This can add at least another round to the drinking time.
• There's usually 2 innings.
• The season lasts from about late April, early May until about early September when the light fades too much.
• Be wary of teams with team-shirts or batting orders!
