Ar The Arizona Daily Star reported: "Dec. 19, 1994: Esther ``Lizette'' Galaz, 6, was beaten, raped  and killed after disappearing from her home in the Rella Verde Apartment complex, 4141 E. 29th St. Her body was found the next day under a mattress in a 15-foot-ditch about a half-mile northeast of her home in central Tucson. The ditch is in a large desert area south of East 22nd Street and east of South Columbus Boulevard.
