Christopher Walken föddes den 31 mars 1943 i
Queens, New York. Heter egentligen Ronald Walken och i
vissa filmer har han krediterats som Ronnie Walken.
Ronald vann 1979 en Oscar för bästa biroll i och med rollen som Nick
i Deer hunter. Denna rollprestation belönades även med
nominering till Golden Globe och British Acadamy Award
Den belönades även med en New York Film
Critics Circle Award. Walken syns mest i olika drama, men har en
mycket bred repetoar. Han är med i Madonnavideon Bad Girl från 1983
och har skrivit (och spelat) pjäsen Him. Flest filmer har han gjort
med regissören Abel Ferrara.
Den ena brodern Glenn Walken har bl.a framträtt i Apocalypse Now
(som lieutenant Carlsen).George Lucas andrahandsval för rollen som
Han Solo var Walken(dumma George Lucas: tänk er!!)
Slutligen kan man även nämna Walkens fobi för att färdas för
snabbt i bilar, och det att denne under en kort period arbetat
som lejontämjare på cirkus. Han är min favorit främst för sin psykotiska blick, sina starka rolltolkningar och sin underbara röst.
