Stock Kitty Cat Classes
Governor Stock, Amateur Stock, Improved Stock, Stock
General
- This section covers the following classes; Governor Stock,
Amateur Stock, Stock, Improved Stock.
- The snowmobile must have original OEM ( or factory designated
replacement)
engine, hood, track, skis, frame, cowl,
gas tank, carburetion, suspension, and variable speed converter
supplied
by the manufacturer for that particular
model. Factory designated replacements is allowed.
Engine
- No component of the engine may be altered changed or enlarged
from
the engine manufactures original stock
specifications nor may any additional components be added to the
engine.
- Blueprinting of engines is not allowed. No removal of material
what so ever will be allowed. This is to include polishing port
matching, deburring, glass or sand blasting
surfaces or material removal for the purpose of engine balancing or
other reasons.
- Governor assembly must be installed on the engine.
- (Governor stock) Governor must be fully
operational.
- (Amateur Stock, Improved Stock, Stock)
Governor must be intact but does not have to be functional.
- Replacement pistons must be stock OEM for the model. Piston must
be installed in its OEM orientation
- OEM cylinder bore size ust be maintained, no overbore
allowed.
- There will be no more than one cylinder base gasket to a
cylinder. No changes in engine dimensions can be made by gasket
adjustments. Gaskets (including the
carb mounting gaskets) may be trimmed, but must remain OEM
- Spark plugs do not necessarily have to be OEM stock, but must
maintain 1/2 inch reach.
- No additional fuel pumps may be added to stock carburetors.
- No carburetor changes allowed. No
changes allowed to throat of carburetor or any other orifices.
- Jetting changes are allowed.
- Filter material may be added to OEM air box. Air box (silencer)
and/or its mounting gasket may be removed.
- A 2.0 inlet valve may be used in the
carb.
- The carburetor insulator block may not
be modified or trimmed except for elongating the stud mounting holes.
- The OEM exhaust system for the model must be furnished
complete on the machine. The exhaust system must be fully contained
within the confines of the cowl or the chassis and
direct exhaust emissions from the enclosed area. Muffler components
and/or silencing material must be intact at all times.
Drive
- (Governor Stock) Stock drive clutch engagement must be maintained
(2000
RPM maximum clutch engagement)
- OEM drive clutch with no modification.
- No belt drives allowed.
- Chain guard must be in place.
- Required sprockets for Stock classes:
- Drive sprocket 11 tooth
- Drive sprocket 42 tooth
- Improved Stock sprockets
- Gearing changes to the driven sprocket are allowed but the
drive sprocket must remain OEM stock eleven (11) tooth
Ski Suspension and Steering
- Front suspension must be OEM for the model unless otherwise noted.
- Front suspension must remain in its stock location.
- Ski widening devices and /or height adjustment devices are not
allowed in stock unless furnished as OEM and properly filed.
- OEM, for the model, handlebar height must be maintained.
Ski and Ski Runners
- Skis must remain OEM for the model and year.
- Ski suspension components must be OEM.
Track Suspension
- The complete suspension must be used as furnished and filed by
the
manufacturer.
- There will be no suspension options.
Track and Traction
- Any traction products allowed, but must meet Kitty Cat general
Track
and Traction rules
Frame and Body
- OEM hoods only.
- Optional colored OEM hoods may be substituted for black
hoods
- OEM hood may be painted any color
- It is allowed to open OEM designated (molded in) vent slots on
the hood.
- Windshield may be trimmed.
- Fuel tank may be raised within the confines of the OEM hood and
frame configuration.
- An air vent may be added to the fuel tank ( see illustration)
Vent line must be routed to prevent siphoning when snowmobile is tipped
to either side.

Ignition & Electrical
- Headlight may be removed, but lighting coil must remain in
place.
- Spark plug cap does not have to be OEM.
