Official sanctions, Racing Classes and Kitty Cat Limits
Kitty Cat Racing Class
The intent of these classes is to establish races that all can
compete
in at their level of personal and equipment
ability. The classes are organized to enable
as many snowmobiles as possible
a place to successfully compete.
Based on safety and competition, Kawasaki
powered Kitty Cats will only be allowed to compete in Improved
Stock, Formula III and
Formula I classes. If class rules are not followed, the class
name
shall not be used and the class shall run under
a specialty classes.
Once rules are abridged, the sanction is no
longer in effect.
All Kitty Cat clases are stock based classes. No change or
modification is allowed unless specifically allowed by these rules.If
these rules do no specifically allow a change or modification, then it
must be assumed that the change or modification is not allowed.

Formula I
Specialty
Class/Sanctions
Can be any Kitty Cat event that does not fall
under any of the specific classes, but meets
established safety standards.

Recommended entry fees in Kitty Cat Racing
$15.00 in all classes
Pay back/Registration Fees

General Competition and Safety Rules
- Kitty Cat Race will be red flagged in the event that a driver
is off
a machine that was involved in a two or more sled accident.
- Events are open to all qualified sleds and drivers. The
sanctioning body has the authority to evaluate all drivers to determine
their qualifications
- The owner and driver are responsible to ensure that their sled
meets all of the rules herein and in General Rules and
Regulations. Any sled that does not meet the requirements will be
subject to disqualification and forfeiture
any prizes or awards, plus eligibility for the next two (2) races.
- Two (2) laps are recommended in heats and five (5) laps finals.
- A driver must compete for a full year in stock class and be five
(5) years of age before competing in any of the other classes.
- Mandatory tear down and inspection of first place sleds.
- The Race Director and/or Tech Director have the authority
to determine structural integrity.
- Driver must wear all required safety apparel as described
in Driver Protective Equipment Section of the General Rules.
This includes approved helmet, upper body
protection, shin and knee guards, gloves, boots and outer clothing with
the
required amount of high visibility orange
color.
- While driver is on the course, radio communication between driver
and crew is not allowed.
General Requirements and Regulations All Classes
Drive
- Brake must be functional and operational at all times
Ski Suspension and Steering
- Rod ends (Heim Joints) may be used
- Spindle bushings may be replaced. Front end geometry may not
be
changed.
- An extension may be added to the left handlebar. Maximum 3 inches
wider, maximum 4 inches down. End must be capped

- Left side of handlebar may be straightened. Structural integrity
must be maintained.
Skis and Ski Runners
- Ski loops must be added. Minimum 1 inch diameter material. Loop
must
have minimum diameter of 3 inches
If metal, ski loop must be padded.
Track and Traction
- (Oval) Track studs must not extend more than 3/8 inch above
the
highest
point of the track
- For cleated tracks the maximum stud length is 5/8 inch. No
stud
washer (backing plate) allowed.
- For older rubber tracks (without
traction
ribs) maximum stud length is 5/8 inch with a commercially available
backing plate of .180 inch maximum
height.
Combined
max. height above the track of .805 inch.
Frame and Body
- Windshield and windshield molding may be
removed.
- Rear tunnel enclosure must be
maintained in
all classes.
Ignition & Electrical
- A tachometer may be installed.
