My name is Hiram Le Cèdre.
I became involved in music when I was 13. I played tenor sax in 8th grade, and alto sax freshman year. During freshman year I became friends with a person who introduced me to Yanni's music. This is when I was first introduced to the piano. I instantly fell in love with the instrument. I then spent many hours a day learning and playing Yanni songs on the school's piano. After school was out, I worked in the summer to save money for a piano. I only made about $500, but my parents paid the rest.
In the summer of '97, I played solo piano on a cruise ship for over 1,000 people. When I finished the song the feeling of all those people applauding for me was indescribable. I then asked myself, "How would it feel if the song you performed was your own?" The feeling was to overwhelming for me to imagine. I then sat down to the piano on the ship and a song suddenly started playing in my head. The song in my head was incredibly peaceful sounding. I call this song "Upon the Sea".
I then knew that I would want to compose music for a living. I would like to compose music for movies and albums. My goal is to impact the emotions of the listener in a personal way which can not be expressed with words. I can only hope that it will affect you in the way it affects me.
