The first 3,000 Bow Wow fans arriving at the venue with their own copies of "Doggy Bag" will be admitted to the show (which begins at 5 p.m. ET).
Bow Wow's career has been a series of firsts: he became the youngest musician to kick off the Grammy Awards when he introduced Madonna's opening at this year's ceremony. And he recently entered "The Guinness Book of World Records" as the youngest solo rapper to hit No.1 on the U.S. charts.
Lil Bow Wow will star in the upcoming Fox film "Like Mike" as a kid who finds a pair of magic sneakers that give him the basketball prowess of Michael Jordan. "Like Mike" is set for release in June 2002 -- the same month Bow Wow is scheduled to launch his very own line of hip kid's clothing under the moniker "Lil Bow Wear."
PAUL McCARTNEY
Paul McCartney says his final moments with George Harrison were "the best thing for me" -- especially the part where the former Beatle band mates held hands.
McCartney told a BBC Radio interviewer that when he visited Harrison two weeks before the Beatles lead guitarist died, he "spent a couple of hours ... laughing and joking and holding his hand." It was only after the visit, said McCartney, that he realized that in all the time they'd known each other, he had never held Harrison's hand. "He was rubbing his thumb up and down my hand," said McCartney, "and it was very nice."
NIRVANA
The members of Nirvana who are suing Courtney Love for control of the company that manages the business affairs of her late husband and former Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain are accusing Love of being motivated by "self-interest" and an "obsessive need for publicity and attention."
Cobain committed suicide in 1994, following a long struggle with substance abuse and depression. His former band mates, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, filed suit against Love last week. They also released an open letter to Nirvana fans blaming Love for holding up the release of a Nirvana boxed-set to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the release of the band's first big hit album, "Nevermind."
"This project had been in the works for nearly five years," they wrote. "But this collection never came out. And there is only one reason: Courtney Love."
Love sued Novoselic and Grohl earlier this year to gain sole control of Nirvana LLC -- saying she should control the company because Cobain had been the sole artistic force of Nirvana.
CLARK VS. GREENE: AN UPDATE
CBS has weighed in on the squabble between American Music Awards producer Dick Clark and the Grammys' Mike Greene.
Clark alleges in a $10 million lawsuit that Greene uses the prospect of a Grammy Awards appearance as leverage to keep major stars from doing the AMAs.
Country.com reports that while CBS makes clear it is "not a party to the litigation," the network does say in a statement released last Thursday that it stands behind Greene: "As a broadcaster," our goal is to provide our audiences distinct, exclusive and compelling entertainment."
Michael Jackson's recent cancellation of an AMA spot prompted Clark's lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week.
The American Music Awards air Jan. 9 on ABC. The Grammys are set for Feb. 27 on CBS.
AALIYAH'S LAST MOVIE
Producers of singer/actress Aaliyah's last movie "The Queen of the Damned" have called on her brother, Rashad, to help out in post-production -- to re-record parts of her dialogue.
Time magazine reports Rashad "speaks in the same smooth, serene tones as his late sister," who was killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas in August.
In the film version of the Anne Rice gothic novel, Aaliyah played a 6,000-year-old Egyptian vampire with a thick accent. Rashad's voice did not replace his sister's entirely. Producers mixed it in with Aaliyah's original track, to reinforce her sound.
"The Queen of the Damned" is set for release in February 2001. Time reported earlier that the last scene Aaliyah shot for the movie was a death scene.
'N SYNC
'N Sync's new single, "Girlfriend," is shaping up as another crossover hit for Justin, Lance and the fellows -- with R B music directors showing some enthusiasm for adding it to their playlists. According to Launch.com, the song is poised to follow the most recent 'NSync single, "Gone," onto the urban charts.
Mimi Valdes -- editor-at-large for Vibe magazine -- told Launch it doesn't surprise her. "'Girlfriend,' I love that song so much," she said. It reminded her of early music from the '80s R B group New Edition, with pure and innocent lyrics that hadn't been around for a while. "I think R B was just missing (that)," said Valdes. "It's just ironic that these white boys just brought that back."
Justin Timberlake's girlfriend, Britney Spears, has been on the R B/Hip-Hop Singles Tracks chart for two weeks, with her current single "I'm a Slave for U."

NEW 'LOVE SONGS' SERIES
Motown's "Love Songs" -- a new compilation series of recordings debuting in time for Valentine's Day -- kicks off with the Jan. 15 releases of albums from Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye.
"Michael Jackson: Love Songs" reveals a sometimes underrated aspect of his career -- as a soul singer in love. It includes a cover of the Little Kimmy Scott chestnut "Everybody's Somebody's Fool," the pop hit "Got To Be There," "We're Almost There," "We've Got A Good Thing Going," "Call On Me" (original mix), "You Are There," "One Day In Your Life," "Wings Of My Love" and "I'll Come Home To You." The collection also includes Jackson 5 tracks, such as an alternative version of "I'll Be There."
Gaye's "Love Songs: Bedroom Ballads" contains the complete album "Vulnerable," which Gaye called his favorite. There's also late-night love songs from four other Marvin albums -- "Let's Get It On" ("You Sure Love To Ball"), "I Want You" ("Feel All My Love Inside," "Since I Had You," "Soon I'll Be Loving You Again"), "In Our Lifetime" ("Funk Me") and "Here, My Dear" ("Falling In Love Again").
Also being released in the "Love Songs" series on the same day are revised reissues of Neil Diamond's hit "Long Songs" collection and The Temptations' "For Lovers Only," which includes a special bonus track: a remix of "Night And Day" from the 2001 romantic comedy "What Women Want," starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt.

MARIYLN MANSON
A judge in suburban Detroit has reduced a criminal sexual conduct charge against Marilyn Manson from a felony to a misdemeanor. It's one of two charges stemming from a July 30 incident in which the controversial rocker allegedly rubbed his crotch on a security guard's head during a show.
The online news provider Sonicnet.com reports Clarkston, Mich., Judge Gerald E. McNally said he wasn't convinced the offense warranted a felony charge and lessened it to a misdemeanor disorderly persons charge, according to an Oakland County District Court spokesperson. A second charge of misdemeanor assault and battery still stands. If convicted on both counts, Manson faces up to 90 days in jail, according to assistant prosecutor Ken Frazee.
Manson's attorney, Walter Piszczatowski, was prepared to show the court a videotape of the incident that occurred at the DTE Energy Music Theatre, where Manson allegedly approached 25-year-old Joshua Keasler, spit on the man's head and proceeded to rub his G-string-clad genitalia about Keasler's head and neck. However, the judge was able to make his decision on the matter without seeing it, Piszczatowski said.
Though Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, was present in the courtroom, he did not testify.
On Sept. 21, Manson pleaded innocent to felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and misdemeanor assault and battery in the case. Friday's hearing was the result of an adjournment from the originally scheduled Nov. 9 date.
Earlier this month, a second man, from Minnesota, claimed to have also been victimized by Manson's stage act and filed a $75,000 civil suit against the rocker. A date for that hearing has yet to be set.
GEORGE HARRISON
He might soon be known as the late SIR George Harrison.
The British tabloid News of the World reports the former Beatle will be included among those being granted knighthoods on The Queen's Birthday List next June, according to Underground.com. Queen Elizabeth's New Year's knightings were compiled prior to Harrison's death Nov. 29. This would be the first time such an honor has been awarded posthumously.
Harrison was awarded an MBE along with the rest of the Beatles in 1965.
LIMP BIZKIT
The members of Limp Bizkit are planning open guitar auditions in January and February at Guitar Center stores in 23 cities around the country. Each event is a "pre-audition for the chance to jam with the band," the rockers say.
Limp Bizkit is also setting up a Web site to accept submissions of original songs and guitar playing. "If the band likes what they hear, the person has the chance to be flown to nearby tour stops for an audition," the band's record label says.

BRITNEY SPEARS
Many parents cringe at the name Britney Spears. After all she is barely out of high school, but her demeanor, song lyrics, costumes -- what little she wears -- and other aspects of her personal life are not exactly the thing most would like their teenage girls to emulate. Or, for that matter, their teenage boys to notice.
Now the New York Post says if you don't like her pushing of the envelope so far, you might want to lock your kids up so they don't find out about her upcoming movie. The publication says the new flick, "Crossroads," forgets there was any envelope to push in the first place. In it, Spears reportedly dances in her underwear -- and not in the style of Tom Cruise in "Risky Business," gets drunk and then becomes a non-virgin with some help from an ex-con.
