| I'll tell you about Jill, because she's the
real Corrie fan, although I'm always by her feet so I listen, too. Must
say my ears have pricked up lately!!..(for some reason, I love the sound
of Roy's voice)...
Jill told me she was born in England and came
to Canada at the age of five. She lived outside Halifax for another five
years until the family settled in Regina..Jill went to live in Belfast
when she was 11 but came back to Canada, finished school, went to university
and eventually, became a teacher... She worked and then took a year off
and travelled..and then worked and took a year off and travelled... and
then went to Thailand to teach English in a girls' high school.
She told me she began watching Coronation
Street in 1974...in black and white, I think she said. She loved Hilda
Ogden and Elsie Tanner..(in fact, I think she's a bit like them both, from
what she's told me of them)... Jill has four children, I like them all...three
sons and a daughter..oh yeah, and there's Peter too...sometimes he takes
me camping.. (I like that!!)...
Jill says her favourite characters besides
Hilda and Elsie, are Rita, Audrey, the dearly departed Len Fairclough,
Alf Roberts and Des... I know she was heartbroken when newcomers Darren
Whateley, Zoe and Ruth left. She also often mentions Mavis and Derek so
I know she loved them too...
Love to all you Corrie fans.. from me (Petchuka)
and Jill... |
