Jacqueline
Hello, my name is Jacqueline  and I was born in England in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, I don't recall anything about that place as I left at the ripe old age of six months and then moved to Nottingham before coming to Canada (my home now) in 1965.  I currently live in Newmarket, Ontario.

I have been a Coronation Street fan since the beginning when the show started and my two great loves were Ken Barlow and Cliff Richard - well I'm not too sure what I saw in Ken Barlow but I still love Cliff Richard's music and he hasn't changed a bit!  I remember in England how when I was very young I used to watch Top of the Pops with Jimmy Saville, Coronation Street and of course when I was much younger it was Bill and Ben the flowerpot men and Weeeeeeeeed, funny how you remember those things and my favourite will always be Noddy!

The best show on television, in my opinion, is Coronation Street.  The Street offers a realistic depiction of everyday people interacting as one would expect people to do in real life.  They don't all have $25,000 worth of capped teeth, live in mansions, and wake up in the morning fully made up.  They look like real people that you would expect to meet and talk within real life.

I tape the show every Monday through Thursday on CBC and have Sunday's omnibus to tape if something goes wrong with the weekday tapes.

I also watch ER and any Cracker shows and I do like other British
comedies as well.

My hobbies are making chocolates, cooking, crossword puzzles and looking after and taking my American Cocker Spaniel whose name is
Brandy Alexander for walks.
I have been a regular visitor to #coro_street channel on IRC since November 12th, 1996.  Through it, I have got to know so many wonderful people.  I want to say how friendly, helpful and interesting everyone has been to me on the channel - I really don't know what I would do without them all and without further ado, here is my speech..

Wow, I feel like I am at the Academy Awards, lol, but I do have to do this as I don't know how I would get through some days without the following people as they have all played a special part in my life in some way, so here goes!!  Big thanks go to Adele, AlfaMS, alleyy, ambitious spice, amom, angeinoz, Annie, barrys, bazza, Bazooka, belomar,  billm, Blowick, booboo, brum, Bubbles, buckwheat, bugly, cannylass, Caroline, Cathyd, Cork, corofan99, dazzle, Deoin, dewey, dobbo, doreenm, Eastcoastsue, Emilyj, Ena, _FR_, fat1, glo, Gnomelady, Goju^Mike, Grahame, Greggy, guyn, Ianh, ln, Jewelly, jojo, jordy, Jubblyjub, judy, karens, karent, kenc, kev4me, LadyNova, liquatonic, Livingstone, maggy, Sir James, mamie007, melon, Mickeyb, mikecsvu, MissRosie, mrsbell, nanxy, Paradise, patk, pattr, peel, Petchuka, peterc, PhilJC, philman, piggynuisance, rayc, Rduch, Reptar, Rlisa, Rlori, rmarburg, rosy,  RunaroundSue, rushy, Sasparilla, scissors, sfrms, SirJames, Sheil, sliderman, Stormee, sunbunny, Surly, tarq, techlady, The_Rattler, tindigo, Tinky, tontay, top, tvor, twiglet, Yoda, Youngie and yukon_michael.  If I have forgotten anyone's name, please accept my apologizes, it is not intentional.  All the people above have made me laugh, cry and I have made some lovely friendships.

In real life, at one stage, I used to be a bartender, so you will see me serving the drinks to everyone on the channel.  In addition to Newton & Ridley's, we have Newcastle Brown Ale, other beers, Scotch and Brandy as well as lots of exotic specialities such as Roadrunners, Screaming Orgasms and Velvet Hammers, just to name a few.

Music is an important part of my life, as I have been also a bar DJ, so on Saturday nights, you will find me listening to Saturday Oldies Show from CHFI, Toronto, while my channel mates listen to the same program or another station on the Web.  We have such a good time and so many laughs.  Why don't you join us for a cyber-dance next Saturday?

A few times a year, we get together at Pings, they really are such great fun and a wonderful chance to meet up with friends old and new.  Another way for me to keep in touch with my friends is through Annie's Guestbook.  Please come and join us as you are most welcome anytime.

By now, you will realize that I LOVE this place so much.  Why don't you join us soon - this is such a warm and friendly spot, don't be afraid to say hello, just remember the people I mentioned above are fantastic people, friendly, helpful and interesting as well.  To all the people I am going to meet - welcome and hello - Thanks again to everyone.

Just getting back to Coronation Street, which is the reason behind all these friendships, I would like to share with you my Corrie likes and dislikes.

MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE CHARACTERS WHOM HAVE LEFT:
(there are quite a few) ARE: Elsie Tanner, Ena Sharples, Stan & Hilda Ogden, Eddie Yeats, Bet Lynch Gilroy, Albert Tatlock, Annie Walker, Len Fairclough, Minnie Caldwell, Martha Longhurst, Maureen Holdsworth, Des Barnes and Raquel Watts.

FAVOURITES STILL ON ARE:
Rita, Sullivan, Maud Grimes, Toyah Battersby, Vera & Jack Duckworth, Curly Watts, Alma & Mike Baldwin and Judy & Gary Mallett just to name a few.  (I could go on!)

NEW FAVOURITES ARE:
Toyah Battersby (she has really matured as I didn't really like the character when she first came on the show but I do know), another person who has grown on me as well is Natalie Barnes as I didn't much like her at first but I do now. Roy & Hayley are great, I do love looking forward to the scenes together and the storyline is great.

PERSONS I DON'T LIKE ARE:
The McDonalds (Steve can't act, Jim needs to calm down and face reality) and Sally Webster, please grow up!.

MOST MEMORABLE SCENES:
Elsie Tanner and Ena Sharples fighting in the street or sometimes in the pub.  I loved seeing Ena Sharples, Minnie Caldwell and Martha Longhurst having a milkstout in the snug in the Rovers.
The death of Stan (and I cried my eyes out) and last but not least the scene where Curly is going to sleep with Raquel's dressing gown (I cried at that as well), what a cry-baby I am eh?

LEAST MEMORABLE SCENES;
Reg and his toupee and the Gnomes episodes, also Sally and Greg..

PEOPLE I WOULD LIKE TO SEE TOGETHER:
This took some time in trying to figure out who I would like to see with whom? The only answer I could come up with was  Chris with myself and also Des!  I know only in my dreams!  LOL
