| Hi! I am CathyD from Newfoundland,
Canada. I have been a Corrie fan for years. I watched the show
as a kid with my Mom and started watching again sometime around 1988.
My first visit to #coro_street was in November
1998. Of course, as any #coro_street regular will agree, the
positive energy and friendly conversation just keep drawing me back and
back and back. I am often amazed that I sit here at my laptop talking
to people from ocean to ocean (time zone to time zone) - not only
people who share a common interest but great people who are becoming great
friends! I also visit Annie's
GuestBook almost every day. I don't post very often (it is becoming
more natural as I get to know everyone) but I'm there listening in.
More about me. I am married and have
two beautiful and busy children, a daughter who is now 10 and a son 4.
I have worked in Information Technology since 1982 when I graduated
from university with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. I
have had mainframe, mid-range and micro assignments and have been with
my current employer (a Newfoundland based IT company) since 1985.
My current assignment is lead of a Network and Desktop Support Team which
I really enjoy.
Newfoundland is a scenic and wonderful place
to live and VISIT. We are the most eastern province of Canada which
puts us closer to Granada Studios than anywhere else in the country.
Just a stone's toss across the water.
It is difficult for me to decide who my favourite
and least-liked
characters are on the Street. I have
always had a fondness for Curly Watts and Mike Baldwin (I know I know but
you didn't hear it from me) and now recently Hayley, Toyah and Tyrone.
I have had a major distaste for Les Battersby, but as I learn to expect
the worse from him, I find I am tolerating him more and more. Hey,
I know it's only a show (haha) BUT what a show it is!
Some forever memorable Street scenes for me:
Shirley leaving Curly (he didn't know what
hit him)
Alan Bradley's death (splat!)
Raquel leaving Curly (that final scene with
him hugging her clothes - ah gawd!)
Roy (having written down his thoughts and
feelings for Hayley) reading them to her before her trip to Amsterdam (the
look on her face - gulp!) |
