TO

MAX W. BETTMAN

Airman First Class Max W. Bettman distinguished himself by outstanding

Achievement at DaNang Air Base, Republic of Vietnam, on 16 March 1970.

On that date, Airman Bettman rushed to the site of an aircraft crash.

Despite the hazards of burning fuel and exploding munitions, Airman

Bettman unhesitantly persevered in his efforts to aid wounded men,

And to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures and aircraft.

By his prompt action and humanitarian regard for his fellowman, Airman

Bettman has reflected credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Max was a jet air craft mechanic while serving in the Air Force from 1968 until 1972. Click here if you would like to e-mail him.

Thank you, Mr. Bettman, for doing what you could.

Mr. Bettman also sent copies of  2 newspaper articles that have been added to the Newspaper Articles page. Another picture he sent has been added to the March 16 Photos page.
